Growing up down the street from the current location of The Spot on Main, Jenny used to fall asleep to the blinking of stoplights in front of The Spot on Main’s former occupant, The Fashion. After leaving Jackson in the early 90s, Jenny returned in 2000 and worked in financial marketing positions before opening her own business, JSM Design & Creative Services, in 2011. The urge for a small, locally-owned coffee house was one that she always felt, but it wasn’t until 2016 that she seriously considered pursuing what she always thought of as a pipe dream. Jenny finally decided to go through with the coffee shop idea with one quote in mind: “The grass isn’t greener on the other side, the grass is greener where you water it.” Now an owner of not one, but two small businesses, Jenny keeps herself business doing what she does best –– creating the best ideas and best coffee possible.
