ON THE SPOT TUITION ASSISTANCE

“On The Spot Tuition Assistance” for eligible employees:

Tuition Assistance is money to help pay for college courses that are taken at an “approved school” such as a two or four year public or private college or university; business, technical or vocational school; graduate or post-graduate school that is accredited by the Department of Education.

You are eligible for up to $1,000 in Tuition Assistance each year ($500 per semester) if:
• You are employed at least 90 cumulative days as of the time of the Tuition Assistance Request application completion
• You work an average of 15 hours per week
• You are in good standing as determined by Management (following rules set forth in employee handbook regarding dress code, punctuality, attendance, cell phone usage, etc.)

You are eligible for up to $2,500 in Tuition Assistance each year (1,250 per semester) if:
• You are employed at least 90 cumulative days as of the time of the Tuition Assistance Request application completion
• You work a minimum of 30 hours per week
• You are in good standing as determined by the Owner (following rules set forth in employee handbook regarding dress code, punctuality, attendance, cell phone usage, etc.)
• You are pursing a degree in Culinary Arts, Food Science, Foods & Nutrition Studies, Hospitality, Restaurant Management

Tuition Assistance covers eligible course expenses (tuition, books and supplies, course fees) that are not covered by other scholarships and grants.

Example of how this works:

Mary receives financial aid that she must repay. She is eligible to use On The Spot Tuition Assistance to cover eligible course expenses to avoid out of pocket costs.

…or

Mary receives a grant that covers 50% of her tuition. The grant does not need to be repaid. However, Mary is eligible to use On The Spot Tuition Assistance to cover the remaining eligible course expenses that he would have to pay out of pocket.

To obtain Tuition Assistance, your request must be approved by Management. Courses must be taken at a degree or certificate granting college or university, accredited by the U.S. Department of Education. Employee must maintain a GPA of at least a 3.0 each semester and maintain at least 12 credit hours per semester to qualify. On The Spot Tuition Assistance is paid out at the end of each semester when qualified bill and grade transcripts are submitted.
